Hire the grounds
A stunning setting
The Kingston Showgrounds are set against rolling hills in the picture-perfect country town of Kingston in the Hepburn Shire. Our leafy grounds are unique and historic, featuring our magnificent heritage-listed grandstand and a sweeping, grass arena surrounded by old elm trees.
This scenic backdrop is perfect for all manner of events, including weddings. Hire is available for photoshoots, ceremonies and marquee receptions.
The grounds are peaceful, quiet and surrounded by farmland. Yet they’re just a 20 minute drive to Daylesford and 25 minute drive to Ballarat.
Private occasions and community events
From festivals and car rallies through to fundraisers, sports days, weddings and more, consider the Kingston Showgrounds for your next event.
The venue was recently used as the location for a Furphy Beer advertisement , and is available to hire for professional videography and photography shoots. We’ve also hosted car rallies, horse breed shows, cycling events and caravan groups.
Small group bookings are also welcome, and the facilities can be used for a get together with family or friends, or a community group meeting.
Our premier annual event is the Kingston Agricultural Show, which is run in December each year.
A range of facilities
Facilities include the heritage-listed grandstand, clubrooms with air conditioning and wood heater, large grassed arena, tables and chairs, a kitchen (catering facilities and crockery/cutlery), toilets and shower (disability access), sheds and more. All facilities can be made available to hirers.
There’s also plenty of parking, and two marquees available for hire which can be joined to make one 8x8m tent.
Support a community effort
Our grounds can be hired at very reasonable rates, which vary depending on the type of event and usage of the grounds and facilities.
All profits from venue hire are reinvested back into the work of the Kingston Agricultural Society - a volunteer committee run by community members.
Open to visitors
The grounds are open to the public and are free to visit for those looking for a place to have a picnic, walk the dog, kick the footy or sit in the grandstand and enjoy the view.
